My mood today: Tired and cranky even after getting plenty of sun. My go-to sun soaking game of the day has been Civilization Revolution on WP7.
On Tuesday Kobe scored 38 points against the Nuggets in a Lakers victory leaving me with at least 38 achievements to get on Wednesday. Not quite the 50 I had wished for, but still a challenge none-the-less.
I ended up completing the challenge by gaining 40 achievements for the day in 5 different games. Two days down! Hopefully a championship run to go!
Speaking of the NBA playoffs, I think the Lakers have as good a chance as about 3 to 4 teams to win it all this year. Miami really doesn't want to see the Lakers or Spurs in the finals. Believe that! Since I truly think they have a legitimate shot, I pick them to win it all. But I wouldn't be surprised if The Spurs, Oklahoma City or Miami does win the ring. There's no reason why Miami shouldn't be in the Finals when the dust settles because the Eastern Conference competition is a cake walk compared to the Wild, Wild West. They are good, but lets get real. The East has been a joke for many of years now. I think whoever comes out of the West will be your NBA champion.
Kobe and the Lakers play again on Friday night leaving me with a weekend challenge day.
I haven't got much gaming under my belt so far today, only unlocking a few achievements in Mortal Kombat and Civ Rev for WP7. However, I recently gave a few mini reviews for some of the games I recently completed.
The Walking Dead Episode 1 for XBLA has 8 achievements for 100 gamerscore. It takes only a few hours to do and it's so worth the $5 asking price.
For the first time in episodic gaming history, I actually thought I was playing an "Episode" of a game. One that should truly be played for the experience and story. The decisions you have to make, and the pace at which you have to make those decisions, has you on pins and needles through-out. By far my favorite point and click game out there. TellTale games does an amazing job of getting you attached to the characters in a short period of time. Maybe why I like it so much has a lot to do with the mature nature and zombies, but it's real! Real as in, "Yo, this shit be real son!"

I sat on my above thoughts for a night before I jotted them down. Looking back, I might even bump the score up slightly. It's really that damn good!
Prototype 2 takes around 12 hours to 1k.
Graphics are not too shabby all-around, but the city is just drab.
Audio: Voice acting is good for the most part with some funny dialog through-out. At times, the dialog is so dumb, it's funny. Sound effects are right at the average level and the score leaves much more to be desired.
The game shines most in the game play department . It's oh-so- fun making anything and everything that walks, bleed! As you progress through the game you will unlock different abilities that will give you a plethora of ways to dispatch your enemies. Have it your way!
If there was a story to get engrossed in, I did not see it. There isn't enough variety in the mission structure or overly exciting in-game challenges to warrant replay value of any kind. Yeah, there are some collectables to be had, and thankfully, those are easy as pie to track down.
It's fun leaping, running, and flying around in the city like a boss on steroids, but that city is just too empty. It doesn't have the appeal or fun factor of the higher end sandbox titles currently available on the system which are much more deserving of your time.
Fun, but forgettable. And please, give us co-op or give us death next time.

I wrote this as soon as I got the 1k and I stick with the exact rating I gave it.
I also played quite a lot of Fable Heroes last night/this morning. Probably a lot more fun due to the co-op experience it offers, but I do not have many complaints. I really do enjoy the game but there are two things that I don't like: Having to wait for a level to be unlocked once the top 100 on the leaderboard gain 1,000,000,000 accumulative coins and the fact that it doesn't save the progress for the client in Xbox LIVE multiplayer co-op. Achievements and everything have worked fine thus far, but when I go to single player nothing is unlocked that I did online except characters and coins. No level progress..... :( I do love me some 400 point arcade games though. Hell, I may very well end up buying every single one of them.
Cindy and I are in the process of planning an escape to the mountains in the near future and I'm really looking forward to that. I still need to get after it (gamerscore chase) before we do go as I'm trying my best to put a dent into 800k's big ol' chunky ass. One chop at a time.
The new recording time for The Gamerscore Popcast is afternoons on Friday. Do you have something you would like to ask or say. Call us and leave a message! (424) 256-6512 There's still time for your voice to be heard on the upcoming episode.
Last bit of info is a deal running on Amazon that lasts this week for some headsets I've recently used and grown to love. The TRITTON Trigger, Detonator, and Primer Headsets. Trigger is $10 off, Detonator is $20 off, and Primer is $25 off. I would go with the Primer personally, but if you don't care about wires, the Trigger Set is the best bet for just $39.99. Best way to get the most out of your games without breaking the bank.
If you get a pair you should test it out on a game that features a killer soundtrack. SSX! And a very quality game to boot.
Off to watch more NBA playoffs, feed little Ms. Mittens (she is licking my hair as I type this) and hopefully get some more progress towards 800,000. 800K! Eight Hundred Thousand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: Don't punch fire extinguishers, they tend to hit back. A good lesson to live by for all walks of life.
Don't screw around with animals either.
