You never forget your first

November 22nd - The popping begins! 22 year old Ray Cox pops his first achievement on 360 launch day in North America. Hexic HD was the game, Cluster Buster was the achievement and it was worth a whopping 5 gamerscore points. Intrigued by the idea of achievements and gamerscore, but he was far from hooked at that time.

Completed Game #456: Bloody Good Time

Bloody Good Time is a multiplayer oriented first-person shooter with more emphasis on melee rather than gun-play. Across the 3 sets (maps, the premise is Hollywood sets) to choose from you will find: Beds, to replenish your sleepy meter. Toilets, to replenish your urge meter. (not sure what in the bloody hell to call it) Food, to replenish your hunger meter. If you let these meters deplete, your character will start walking really slow from fatigue. If you don't relieve yourself, your character will start doing the Michael Jackson crotch grab. Hee-Hee

Completed Game #455: Ghostbusters: Santum of Slime

Ghostbusters: Santum of Slime is a top down co-op shooter of sorts. On my rating scale (awesome, great, good, decent, bad, terrible) this would be considered BAD. Too repetitive with how it recycles the levels. I recommend playing it in co-op for some enjoyment. If you're going solo, you  may want to completely skip it. The only nostalgia found within would be that of Ray Park Jr's wonderful theme song that plays on the main menu, which is of course on loop.

A Day in The Life

11:15PM -- Ended up talking on the phone for 2 hrs with a very smart fella.  Quick workout, shower, maybe a beer,  and then the Lakers game currently being recorded on my DVR. Have a good night!

8:54PM -- (1 Achievement) (10 Gamerscore) in Adrenalin Misfits. I suck at this game!

8:40PM -- Time for a little Kinect. I always unplug the thing when not in use....Major Nelson is probably spying in on me waiting for my E-penis to fall out of my shorts. I kid, Major is the man!

8:35PM -- Misfits will have to wait a few, gotta give my buddy Drew a holla.

8:23PM -- Just realized I haven't made fun of Rand al Thor 19 yet.....

Completed Game: Full House Poker (WP7)

Another Poker game, really? What in the hell? That was my initial thought going into Full House Poker. It ended up being one of the better Windows Phone 7 games available. For pick up and playability it works perfect for the on the go gamer. Presentation is great, the different backgrounds and character personalities adds enough flavor to make it look and feel appealing. Trying to raise the stakes using finger drag touch  wasn't perfect, not all that precise, but it works good enough. The achievements are all pretty straight forward, nothing too tasking and generally pretty fun to obtain.

Just taking a quick look at my 2011 gamerscore stats so far, it appears as if I've been going slow. Around 20,000 in close to four months is not exactly my pace from the previous couple of years. The funny thing is, I have no rhyme or reason as to why. Finding a different approach might be the answer.

Full House Poker is now available for Windows Phone 7. Finally an original game that wasn't ported from the iPhone.

Microsoft Provides New Xbox LIVE Statistics - 6.3 BILLION Achievements Popped

"Each achievement can be worth a certain number of individual points within a game, which makes the 6.3 billion number even more impressive—that's not a total score, that's total unlocks. If one was to sum up the nebulous amount of points awarded from each Xbox 360 achievement unlocked by Xbox Live-friendly gamers, Microsoft says you'd get a gamerscore of 176,802,201,383. That's a lot of gaming.

For the numerically obsessed, Microsoft says that an average Xbox Live user has a Gamerscore of around 11,286. To put that in perspective a bit, Xbox Live user Stallion83—who was listed in the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records for "highest Gamerscore"— sits at a score of 540,563 as of this article's writing. And it's not as if he'll be slowing down anytime soon; It's his goal to hit one million points in total."

PAX East Day One in Brief

Day one at PAX was a lot of fun. I spent most of my time with the upcoming XBLA end of the titles. Some exciting new games are definitely on the horizon. Toy Soldiers: Cold War, Trenched and, Gatling Gears stood out as Highlights of the day. check back tomorrow for individual hands on previews video's and more.

I'm Feeling So Fly Like a Coach Seat

I didn't get much done because I needed to catch up on sleep over the past couple of days. Still not quite right, but I'm getting there. PAX east is right around the corner, so I have a long weekend of travel coming up. Not looking forward to the travel at all because I hate to fly. But it should be a fun weekend and I'm really looking forward to that experience. My Windows phone should come in handy during the flight, mile high achievement popping club here I come! As soon as we land in Boston, I'm headed for the soup kitchen for some New England clam chowder. I'm sorry Campbell's soup, your days are over! I will no longer be able to look deeply into your eyes ever again. No Mouth For You!

If the opportunity presents itself, I would love to do "A Day in Life Life" PAX east edition. Sadly, I may not have the time because I would have to wait in long lines to play the games. I don't have a press pass, (could of got one but never applied) so it probably won't be worth the time to wait. I'm sure other amusing things of interest will be going down, so I'll just play it by ear. Maybe have my girlfriend go work the place, but she knows shit all about games. Guess I could give her the camera, that way I'll at the least have some photos. If Billy Mitchell is there, I'll be sure to punch him in his red, white and blue dick.

I'll probably go easy this week, I don't want to burn myself out before going to a convention devoted to video games.

Patches are For Old Clothing

Achievement Bounty 2-27-2011 - 3-2-2011 (85) (1,525 Gamerscore)

Achievements obtained from NHL 09, Fifa 08, Game Chest Solitaire, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Bulletstorm, iBlast Moki, Vanquish, Kane and Lynch 2, and Fight Night Champion.

Completed DLC: The Doggie Bag - Kane and Lynch 2

Got around to finishing up the DLC stuff in Kane and Lynch 2. I loath that game because of the sore losers out there. Take your beatings like a winner, Charlie Sheen would. It took some time, but Bulletstorm grew on me. The game is pretty fantastic and I recommend playing Vanquish before touching BS. It's just not as good after playing Bullet. Whoever wrote the dialog for Bulletstrom had tourette syndrome, that's the only logical explanation I can come up with.

Fight Night Champion is the best boxing game on the 360 to date. It feels and looks a little more arcade like while in motion compared to past Fight Night titles. The combination's are also much more fluid. The story mode adds a different element to the mix, unfortunately, it could of been a lot better and longer. I only played a single online game, but it was lag free and fun. If you like boxing games at all, FNC is a must play. However, Mike Tyson's Punch Out still rules the roost.

I finally added Test Drive Unlimited 2 to my games played/2011 stats. I was debating great or good for the longest time, I went with great. Out of the box with completely broken online functionality it's only a good game. The team behind TDU2 will repair the broken mess with a patch and I can see the potential. It's almost been out for a month now, which is alarming. What the H  E double hockey sticks devs/publishers? Make games that work properly out of the box. If we didn't have the internet, every game released nowadays would have problems.....Fix YOUR problems on YOUR watch. Not after you take out a lone from your fans. Last time I checked, game developers don't need sewing machines to create a game, yet they get dusted off when quality isn't met. Using said sewing machine to patch up a pair of jeans that you wore out while devoting your life to your craft is a much better look. Some amount of dedication and patience is being lost and the quality is suffering.
