Achievement Bounty 2-8-2011 (7) (170GS) |
The Chase Down Progress as of 2-8-2011:
22 of 39
22 completed games. 39 days have passed in the calendar year.
This is where the slippage begins for the chase down due to getting wrapped up in other things. Me versus the EA servers. A battle I knew would be a lost cause. EA was pulling the plug on various games on the 8th. And NHL 09 being one of those games. I found myself in a race against time, once again. At the beginning of the day, I had no intentions on getting this done. I was going to just let it slide.
Not sure what changed my mind about going for it, but I cautiously jumped in.I started at around 11:00PM EST on the 7th. 150 games played in online team play mode while maintaining at least an A- was the requirements. This is for the EA Sports Hockey League Legend achievement. Not knowing exactly when the servers were being shutdown on the 8th, I was taking a risk. Some people claimed 3:00AM EST would be the final bell. I was thinking more like 5:00AM or 6:00AM in my head. Regardless, I knew the servers were a ticking time bomb. I had to get it done faster than humanly possible. I became a robot for 6 straight hours. I probably blinked twice...three times at the maximum. My blatter suffered, my belly ached, and my ass hurt. (But my hands were relaxed thanks to XtendPlay ;) ) It was like staying alive a little longer once the bottom of each hour passed by. 3am, 4am, 5am; a sigh of relief came over me each time.
At around 5:42AMish I go into my final game, game number 150. I finish that game off and I'm starting to feel really good about making the decision to go for it. To get that specific achievement to pop, you have to check your performance tracker just off the main menu. As I am doing just that, I get this message: "CANNOT RETRIEVE STATISTICS FROM EA SERVERS, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER."
FREAK OUT! |
Hey Zakke! Are you going to PAX east this year? You should come by and I MIGHT let you touch my Guinness World Record. I Teabagged your....blow up doll. This is in reply for THIS. Justified retaliation on my part, I believe.
I got served! |
I was about to call it quits and pack it up. But it was too unbelievable for me just to give up. At roughly 7:10AM, the servers came back on and the achievement immediately popped. Making that one of my most memorable achievements yet. The ordinary just doesn't cut it at this stage. That one made me bust a groove. The 100 point achievement put me at 533,533.
533,533 by accident |
In the 2011 stats below, nothing from Test Drive Unlimited 2 is included. Not sure where to rank it since they are having server issues. Good to great range. I hope all the reviews out there mentioned that ginormous problem.

*MISSING ALL STATS FROM TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED 2*
That was intense...I thought it was going to end in Nerd Rage...EA really shouldn't close their servers in the first place...especially when achievements are involved...
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I forgot how big of a fuck wad Zakke Wylde is. I like your story, but waking up to you freaking out was funnier. I'm like, "yeah, uh huh, I just woke up and you are yelling in my face". lol. I am very glad that you got that achievement though, other wise I would have never heard the end of it, and I would have felt really bad for you because I love you. :)
ReplyDeleteI hated that game so much i gave it away to get rid of it! Also don't know how but you were passed on TA by what appears to be a kid with nothing better to do than mod and hack his achievements
ReplyDeleteOk this is reallllllly off topic but. Of the kinect games you've played, whats the best? Also what's the easiest and hardest for achievements?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of Samsung TV do you play on? I'm in the market for a sweetass TV to game on, and I figure that you would be one of the best people to ask on the subject
ReplyDeleteKinect sports is probably the best one I have played. MotionSports is the hardest. Game Party: In Motion is the easiest.
ReplyDeleteAlright thanks :). I'll probably be getting game party
ReplyDeleteWhat did zakke do with chromehounds?
ReplyDeleteJust received test drive, great game, Just debating if a steering wheel would make this game a better experience. now that Microsoft have stopped manufacturing the official steering wheel, which one would you recommend?
ReplyDelete@James It's a 58" samsung plasma. I always liked the colors and darks on plasma TVs. Plus it swivels.

Best post on your site to date. It was a real heart wrencher. It's comedic that the silly Zakke man has to resort to garbage like that. Small man syndrome? I think so. PLUS, your lady had the cajones to post her comment on here, right in his face.
ReplyDeleteYou guys rule. Cheers to 1 million.
Mafia 2 is not completed
ReplyDeletewhat's the solution then? You're not thinking about all the games where I'm just missing the DLC and then I could count that as completed. That right there would make the chase down almost doable.
ReplyDeleteFor example: I count mafia II as 1. Big whoop.
I could finish the DLC in: tomb raider, Things on wheels, Star Wars: The force unleashed, Bioshock 1, Left 4 dead 1, and the list goes on for a while. Which by your standards would make it complete.
If I do it your way, it makes things easier. Trust me, I know.
Then why dont you do that. You just did dlc for super hero squad when u didnt have to so whats the point.
ReplyDeleteI guess I could just to appease you.
ReplyDeleteYour lucky it actually even poped! EA games (for me) are a riot for giving you achievements! I'm talking FIFA, play a whole season with out simming.... Did 4 :( win trophies in 5 countries :( I followed the guides to a T and not poping :( fair play though I know that buzz you get when you work your ass off for a achievement and it makes you feel warm and fuzzy lol
