No Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Achievement Bounty 10-19-2010 (5) (90GS)
Just being half way to a million is sinking in hard. I have done so much to get to this point, it's hard to fathom a replication of the past 5 odd years. Only a few people in the world know the amount of dedication and time it has taken me to reach such an outrageous score already. I see no light at the end of the tunnel, so it will be interesting to see how I pick myself up and continue forward. It just seems like I'm starting from square one all over again. I have no idea how I'm going to pull it off. I'm just 498,763 shy of 1 million, no biggie. We are talking about something that is years in the making, it will not happen over night. Don't take this as a sign of weakness, I'm up for any challenge. I just know the path I've already taken and it may be too difficult for any one person to do all over again.

  1. The second half of any objective is always the more difficult of the two. For most always choose what is easiest of the tasks to accomplish first. In your case, you have completed many quick 1K games from the different companies and that means the possibility of slowing down to the point that it might take twice as long as you have already spent to complete your goal.

  4. 2nd half is always the easiest because it's downhill baby.

  5. More like downhill on sled with no snow.

  6. Think of it like a huge teeter-totter. It's slowly going down the other direction.

  8. Some people have no respect or know the way the world works. Ever hear of company sponsorships. You know the same ones that pay people to pay FPS games to participate in tournaments. Or there is even making money through the creation of an online website that buys and sells products or any of a dozen ways to make money without needing a full-time job.

  9. Just think of all the new easier games that will be coming out thanks to Kinect or all the Jap dating sims that you will have to play....shit.

Sorry, try to keep it up. Or you could just retire like Rand for a month

  10. If one was earning their own money there would be no need to be so secretive about it - only shame would dictate this behavior.

  11. Remember a few weeks ago how you made the post about Kinect perhaps being the kickstart to your achievement scoring? Maybe that will be the case as it will give you and us all a brand new way to get some points. From your A Day in the Life Of segments it seems you are no stranger to physical activity and I can only see Kinect as a way of bridging this gap between gaming and physical exercise.

Also think of all the great games you will play between now and 1 million, sure they are probably going to be dwarfed by the amount of crap that comes out but everything counts. Even inside the next 3 months there are perhaps 10 AAA titles that will make scoring a joy! Think of all the good and cool things you'll experience instead of the hardship to come. ;)

  12. Why are some of you so hell bent on this? I have my reasons and shame isn't one of them. I'm not here to talk about what I have.

  13. People are so hell bent on it because they don't see how you manage to keep it up. Personally, I think what you do with your life is your business and no one else's. Provided, of course, that what you are doing isn't illegal. If you want to maintain your privacy, people need to respect that. Keep at it, ignore the haters, and as Fro already said, the second half is easier.

  15. Some of you people need to chill seriously...who cares where he gets money, get a life

  16. We don't care about _what_ you have, it's _how_ you got it. It's a simple question with a simple answer - and there is only one reason to ignore it

  17. yeah the only reason you dont want to say anything is, that you are doing something illegal. People want to know because they are also intrigued on how you have all this time to play xbox. Quite honestly, im sure many lazy people out there want to have your life. Whats better than doing nothing with your self, but making steady income, especially in a shitty economy we have right now, and just play video games, work out, hang out with their girlfriend and cat ALLL DAY with no consequences. If and when you get to 1 million, the burning question you will get from anywhere and anybody... how were you able to do this and not have to work a job whatsoever? Thats what people want to hear, not about what your eating for a fucking snack or how many push ups you can do, and hell, even "help" us with tough achievements. How about telling us your secret to making money and not having to do anything? You can have your own infomercial for God's sake and make even more money. C'mon man, eventually your going to have to answer tough questions, and if you can't be honest or truthful with them, then you should just delete your blog, and people can just check up on your gamer profile to see how your doing with your quest. /rant

  18. "Thats what people want to hear, not about what your eating for a fucking snack or how many push ups you can do"

If I can influence two people in the world to eat healthier or exercise more, that would mean more to me than getting to 1,000,000.

  19. Nobody looks up to you or admires you for what you are doing. Anybody can play xbox games and get achievements. The difference between you and millions of other people is that we have obligations such as school, work, family, & friends that keep us from doing that. The unique thing about you isn't what you are doing with all your free time - it's how you manage to have so much of it.

  20. You may not and that's fine. But if you were to read all the messages I get, you might understand a little more.

If you don't like what I do, don't come around. PERIOD!
